Chandra Bhattacharjee
Chandra Bhattacharjee is deeply influenced by rural and tribal themes because he sees in it a purity of purpose and expression that is markedly absent in urban life. His inspiration stems from his long association with the Santhals, a tribe of west Bengal known for their intricate paintings on the mud walls of their homes. The textural quality of his paintings subtly mimics this technique in a compelling way making for an identifiable style.

He is a student of the Indian college of Art and Draftsmanship in Kolkata and has held many individual and group shows in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai to public acclaim.
